New Beginnings Therapy in Peterborough
A supportive space to move forward with confidence and hope

What Is New Beginnings Therapy?
New Beginnings is a space for individuals navigating reentry, transition, or a fresh start after prior involvement with the justice system. As a professional Art Therapist, Penny uses creative approaches alongside conversation, offering another way to process experiences that can be difficult to put into words.
The goal isn't to focus on the past, it's to help you build the tools, confidence, and stability to move toward the future you want.

Everyone has the capacity for growth and positive change. Penny welcomes all individuals, including those with prior involvement in the justice system, and approaches each client with empathy, respect, and understanding, regardless of their past.
Who We Work With
Everyone is welcome here, regardless of background or past experiences. This program is for individuals with prior involvement in the justice system who are ready to explore challenges, rebuild confidence, and move forward with support that meets them without judgment.

My Approach
I have a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, and I'm a Registered Psychotherapist and professional Art Therapist, supervised by Dr. Pati Beaudoin, Registered Psychologist. I work through a trauma-informed lens, with training in Neurographica, Internal Family Systems (IFS), ADHD Therapy, and EMDR.
With New Beginnings clients, this means creating a space built on empathy and respect first, so the work of rebuilding and moving forward can happen at a pace that feels right for you.
What It Can Help With
New Beginnings therapy can support a wide range of experiences, including:
Reintegration challenges
Rebuilding confidence
Processing the past
Family reconnection
Employment transitions
Coping and regulation
Setting new goals
Stigma and judgment
What to Expect
Your first session is about getting to know each other, what you're navigating, and what support would be most helpful right now. From there, sessions are shaped around your pace, using conversation and, when it's helpful, creative practices to work through what's underneath the surface. There's no pressure to share more than feels comfortable. This is your process, guided by you.
