Aging & Life Transition Therapy in Peterborough, Ontario
For the chapters of life that don't get talked about enough

Aging & Life
Transition Therapy
Aging brings more than physical change, it can reshape how you see yourself, your relationships, and your place in the world. Menopause, retirement, an empty nest, or simply a shifting sense of purpose can all bring up feelings that are hard to name, let alone talk about.
Penny works with clients across Ontario, online and in person in Peterborough, to help you process these transitions and reconnect with who you are as life changes shape. As a professional Art Therapist, she often brings creative practices into this work, offering a way to explore identity and change that goes beyond conversation alone.
This stage of life deserves support too, not just the ones that come before it.

Navigating aging, menopause, or a shifting sense of identity? Penny Hope offers therapy in Ontario, online or in person in Peterborough, to support you through this life stage.
What Are Aging & Life Stage Issues?
As life moves through new stages, so does your sense of self. Menopause, retirement, becoming an empty nester, or simply noticing your body and life changing, these transitions can bring grief, uncertainty, or a quiet sense of loss that's rarely talked about openly.
Therapy creates space to process what's shifting, without needing to rush toward feeling "fine" about it.

A Creative Way to Process Change
Aging and identity shifts can be difficult to put into words, especially when they involve grief for a version of yourself that's changing. As a professional Art Therapist, Penny uses creative practices alongside conversation to help explore what this life stage means for you, at your own pace.
No artistic skill needed. It's simply another way to make sense of a chapter that deserves real attention.
What to Expect
Sessions start with understanding what this stage of life looks like for you, what's changed, and what's coming up emotionally. From there, work is paced around you, blending conversation with creative practices to help process these shifts and find steadier footing.
The goal is to move through this stage with more clarity and self-compassion, not less of yourself.

My Approach
I have a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, and I'm a Registered Psychotherapist and professional Art Therapist, supervised by Dr. Pati Beaudoin, Registered Psychologist. I work through a trauma-informed lens, with training in Neurographica, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and EMDR.
With aging and life stage work, this often means using IFS to explore the different parts of your identity in flux, paired with creative practices to help process the grief and growth that come with change.
